Senior misses stop in Speyer and falls next to the tracks at Römerberg-Berghausen station – Train driver finds her in the morning

A senior woman fell into the green strip next to the track bed at Römerberg-Berghausen station (Rhein-Pfalz district) and was only discovered the next morning. A train driver noticed the woman shortly after 6 a.m. next to the tracks and immediately alerted the emergency services. According to the Federal Police in Kaiserslautern, she was awake and responsive when paramedics and an emergency doctor arrived; she was then taken to a hospital.

According to the sequence described by the Federal Police, the incident began in Speyer: There, the woman missed her stop. She later got off at Römerberg-Berghausen and wanted to walk back to Speyer from there.

In doing so, she is said to have walked along the tracks and ended up in the area next to the track bed. She fell in the green strip and was then unable to get up on her own or draw attention to herself.

Why the woman chose the path along the tracks and what exactly caused the fall has not yet been conclusively clarified according to the information known so far. However, according to the Federal Police, it is certain that she remained in the track area until the morning before being discovered by the train driver.
