Progressive Metal and Metalcore at Fermac’s Irish Pub

On Friday, October 23, 2026, as the lights dim and the fog rolls onto the stage at Fermac’s Irish Pub, two distinctive Mannheim live acts will collide: Alternative Ways and About to Break. The concert evening begins at 9:00 PM and admission is free.

Alternative Ways: Instrumental Sound with Great Narrative Power

Alternative Ways combine metal, rock, progressive, funk, and jazz into a modern, instrumental progressive metal sound. Pascal Schopp, Paul Dupont, Jannik Geiß, and Pascal Lissy work with complex rhythms, unconventional song structures, and spontaneous genre shifts. Without vocals, there is space for personal imagery and interpretations, while orchestration, dynamics, and precise synchronization carry the musical stories.

The stage performance thrives on the interplay between dramatic intensity, atmospheric tension, and surprising lightness. Hard guitar textures, progressive time changes, and funky impulses shape a concert experience that is both demanding and accessible.

About to Break: Modern Hardness Meets R&B Emotion

About to Break was founded in 2023 in Mannheim and blends modern metal and metalcore with atmospheric melodies and the R&B and soul-influenced vocals of frontwoman Eleah. Tumino on lead guitar, Carlos on rhythm guitar, David on bass, and Alessio on drums complement the distinctive vocals with powerful riffs, breakdowns, and an energy-filled sound.

After the debut EP A Secret To Keep, the band is working on their first full album. Thematically, their songs revolve around inner struggles, traumas, and hope. The international backgrounds of members from South America, Italy, and Turkey are reflected in a unique musical profile.

Live Atmosphere Between Pub Proximity and Stage Energy

Fermac’s Irish Pub provides the perfect setting for an intense concert night: short distances to the stage, immediate audience atmosphere, and a sound that makes the guitar riffs as tangible as the fine melodic transitions. Alternative Ways start the evening with instrumental tension, before About to Break follows with metalcore intensity and emotional vocal performance.

The concert evening stands for community and openness. Alternative Ways are committed to the LGBTQ+ community, mental health awareness, and suicide prevention, and understand their music as a possible safe space for people in challenging life situations.
