Programming, shining, and marveling at Codeweek meets Lichtmeile

On Sunday, October 18, 2026, the neighborhood library Neckarstadt-West will become a creative participatory space for children. At Codeweek meets Lichtmeile, playful programming, imaginative design, and a shared family experience come together in a special atmosphere.

Discover first coding ideas with mini-robots

With Sphero mini-robots, children experience immediately how programming works. They control the small robots with simple building blocks via a tablet, experiment with movements, and observe directly what their commands produce. This child-friendly learning experience conveys the basics of coding without prior knowledge and promotes curiosity, logical thinking, and creative problem-solving.

Design glowing balloons for the Lichtmeile

Creativity is not neglected either: Personal light objects are created from white balloons and small LED lights. Children design their balloon with faces, figures, or their own imaginative ideas and then take it with them to the Lichtmeile. Thus, crafting becomes a visible memento of a special afternoon.

Ages appropriate and family-friendly

The offer is aimed at children from six years old. Younger children are also welcome when accompanied by their parents. The open participatory idea creates space for shared experimentation, children's laughter, and learning fun. Parents experience how digital education and creative design are appropriately combined.

A family afternoon with educational value

Codeweek meets Lichtmeile connects technical curiosity with imagination and self-efficacy. Children plan, test, change, and instantly see the results of their actions. This hands-on learning experience strengthens concentration, coordination, and the joy of implementing their own ideas. The event takes place in the premises of the neighborhood library Neckarstadt-West, providing a protected environment for shared exploration.

Conclusion: Technology meets imagination

Families can expect a free, varied afternoon with mini-robots, glowing balloons, and many opportunities for their own experimentation. Those wishing to experience programming playfully and with all their senses will find a child-friendly invitation to marvel and participate at Codeweek meets Lichtmeile.
