Ruppi Rüpelfisch takes children on an exciting coding mission
A picture book cinema, a fantastical underwater world, and small robots provide a special family experience in Mannheim on October 14, 2026. Children aged 6 to 8 will discover the fundamentals of programming together with Ruppi Rüpelfisch and the Blue-Bots.
Stories open the door to the digital world
To kick things off, the children will experience a short picture book cinema about Ruppi Rüpelfisch. The story provides a child-friendly introduction and sparks curiosity for the upcoming learning journey. Images, characters, and a playful mission combine reading promotion with digital education.
Blue-Bots explore the underwater landscape
After that, it gets active: With the Blue-Bots, the children will plan paths through an underwater landscape and help sea creatures with their mission. Step by step, they will learn to organize movement sequences, pursue goals, and develop their own solutions.
Age-appropriate fun with team spirit
The offer is aimed at children aged 6 to 8 years and is designed to be suitable for early elementary school years. The tasks playfully promote logical thinking, spatial orientation, concentration, and collaborative problem-solving. Children experience coding not as an abstract technology, but as a tangible learning experience filled with movement, imagination, and children's laughter.
Safe and supervised in the library
The event will take place at the Mannheim City Library, Herzogenried branch. The library regularly offers events for children and families, as well as interactive and media-supported educational programs in the district. Registration is required to participate.
Admission and registration
Participation is free of charge. Families can register their children by phone at 0621 293-5055 or via email at stadtbibliothek.herzogenried@mannheim.de. The program is part of the Code Week Baden-Württemberg.
