Program, play, and master your own robot challenges
At For the Code Week: Coding & Playing, children aged 9 to 12 turn their ideas into animated digital adventures. In the Mannheim City Library – Herzogenried branch, they program their own movements with Dash and the mini-Spheros and test them in exciting challenges.
Technology becomes a creative playground
When the little robots start moving, curiosity, wonder, and a lot of children's laughter arise. Participants experiment, observe the results, and gradually adjust their programs. This makes programming a child-friendly learning experience with visible successes.
Age-appropriate learning with Dash and Mini-Spheros
The offering is aimed at children aged 9 to 12 years. The focus is on playful tinkering, logical thinking, and the joy of one's own experimentation. The movement challenges promote concentration, problem-solving skills, and a creative approach to STEM topics.
Quality time with learning fun
Whether a robot follows the planned path or a task succeeds after several attempts: each challenge invites further thinking. Children experience that mistakes are part of the learning process and that trying together yields new solutions. Thus, the event connects family experiences, digital education, and active quality time together.
Important information for families
The event takes place on October 16, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Mannheim City Library – Herzogenried branch. Participation is free of charge. The event is marked as sold out.
Conclusion
Coding & Playing promises an inspiring family experience for children who want to not only observe technology but also shape it themselves. Dash and Mini-Spheros make digital education tangible and ensure learning fun with movement. Families experience here how much joy programming, experimenting, and tinkering together can bring.
