The focus is on the basic playing technique of the frame drum in the Upright Style. Additionally, the workshop introduces Konnakol, the Indian rhythm language, which internalizes rhythmic structures through spoken syllables. Subdivisions, odd time signatures, and polyrhythms become immediately tangible.

The event combines technical foundations with body coordination and musical perception. Exercises in independence, singing, and playing enhance rhythmic precision and create a vibrant event atmosphere. Kasia Kadłubowska works as a musician, composer, and producer in Mannheim. She is active in projects such as Maha Pudma, Mayuko, and Mahlukat and also works in dance theater. After her classical training in Stuttgart, Lyon, and Gdańsk, she has been teaching at the frame drum festival Tamburi Mundi for several years. Her teaching combines precise technique with creative freedom and a versatile understanding of rhythmic forms of expression.

Participation Notes

The course consists of six sessions and builds on each other content-wise. Participation in at least four sessions is recommended; a trial visit is also possible. Tickets are available exclusively online. There will be no box office. Admission closes promptly at the start, so participants should arrive at least 15 minutes early. Comfortable clothing is recommended; the classroom should be entered in socks or barefoot. The lessons take place in the rehearsal room next to the church, not in the church. The language of instruction is German, English available upon request.
