Up Close: Experience Studying at TH Mannheim Up Close

What does studying really feel like? During the taster study Up Close, the Technical University of Mannheim opens its campus to prospective students from October 12 to 14, 2026. On Wednesday, October 14, participants can expect a varied insight into studying, campus life, and subject areas from 09:00 to 15:00.

Discover Your Own Study Interests

Up Close combines study orientation with an authentic event experience. From approximately 150 individual events in technology, computer science, business, design, and social sciences, participants can put together their personal schedule. This results in an individual event planning that considers various interests and questions regarding study choice.

Lectures, Laboratories, and Workshops

Instead of just receiving information from brochures, prospective students experience real lectures, visit laboratories and workshops, and participate in workshops. Technical and scientific phenomena become tangible, while campus tours provide a direct impression of the rooms and learning locations at TH Mannheim.

Interaction with Students

A key component of the target group approach is personal exchange. Study buddies and students share their everyday university experiences, answer questions on an equal level, and provide insights into study content, organization, and campus life. This creates an open event atmosphere where uncertainties about study choices are quickly replaced by concrete perspectives.

Community Café as a Meeting Point

The Community Café serves as a central point of contact throughout the day. Here, participants can take breaks between program points, meet other taster students, and clarify questions about studying. A visit to the cafeteria is also part of the possible campus experiences and makes everyday student life particularly vivid.
