Up Close in Mannheim: Simply try out studying

What does studying really feel like? The Technical University of Mannheim opens its doors for prospective students from October 12 to 14, 2026, during the taster study Up Close. The event provides authentic insights into student life and is particularly aimed at students who want to base their study choice on practical impressions and personal conversations.

Lectures, Workshops, and Real Campus Atmosphere

Instead of experiencing university life only through brochures, participants take part in regular lectures, visit laboratories and workshops, or try out workshops themselves. About 100 to 150 individual events covering technology, computer science, business, design, and social services are available. This results in a personalized schedule that specifically addresses interests and questions.

Students as Personal Guides

A key element of the event experience is direct exchange with students. Through campus tours and personal conversations, prospective students gain first-hand insights: What does a typical university day look like? What requirements can be expected from individual degree programs? And what is campus life in Mannheim like?

Community Café as Meeting Point

The Community Café serves as the central point of contact throughout the taster study. Here, participants meet, take breaks between program items, and clarify questions regarding course selection, application, and student life. The relaxed atmosphere supports the target audience approach and creates space for encounters on equal terms.

Orientation with Experience Factor

The organization combines structured event planning with a personal university experience. Lectures, laboratory visits, workshop tours, workshops, and campus tours make different fields of study tangible. This creates a realistic basis for decision-making for anyone who wants to actively explore their professional future.

Conclusion: Three Days for Your Own Future

Up Close presents the Technical University of Mannheim not just as a place of learning but as a lively campus with people, practical relevance, and diverse study opportunities. Those who want to find out which degree program fits their interests experience orientation, exchange, and real campus life here. Registration through the event page of TH Mannheim is worthwhile for all prospective students who do not want to leave their future to chance.
