Superworm: A Small Hero Conquers the Stage

When the world of insects comes to life among grasses, hedges, and flower petals, a charming stage experience begins for children aged four and up. The Puppet Theater Dornerei presents Superworm, a fanciful story about friendship, courage, and helpfulness in the Mannheim City Library – Schönau branch.

A Hero with Heart and Many Talents

Superworm is the coolest worm in the world: Through rain and shine, he stands by his little crawling friends. As a playmate, helper, and savior, he transforms the stage into a colorful realm full of movement and surprises. The staging based on the story by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler combines humorous puppet theater with a heartfelt narrative about solidarity.

When the Adventure Becomes Dangerous

But even a superhero can find himself in trouble. Superworm’s life hangs by a thread as lizard magic and dark tricks threaten the peaceful insect world. Now it shows what friendship can achieve: Many small creatures must stick together to help their extraordinary companion.

Puppet Theater for the Youngest Audiences

The Dornerei shapes the adventure as a focused, immediately tangible theater experience. Characters, imaginative set designs, and the closeness of puppet play open up a playful access to stage art for children. The approximately 50-minute performance invites wonder, excitement, and laughter, making dramatic fundamental motifs such as danger, rescue, and solidarity immediately comprehensible.

Award-Winning Stage Art

The staging received the Audience Award at the Wiesbaden Puppet Theater Festival in 2016. Thus, Superworm represents a puppet play that takes young audiences seriously while also transporting the whole family into a poetic theater world.

Conclusion: A Colorful Adventure for the Whole Family

Visitors can expect a warm-hearted children's play with an exciting plot, lovingly designed characters, and a clear message: Together, even the greatest lizard magic can be overcome. Anyone wanting to experience the magic of puppet theater live should not miss Superworm in Mannheim.
