Salon music with café ambiance: Café Concert at OPAL
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Nationaltheater Mannheim invites you to the Café Concert in the OPAL foyer. From 2:30 PM, the ensemble Salonissimo brings a lively musical afternoon to Mannheim and brings the elegant world of historical coffee houses and salons to life.
Virtuoso entertainment music with Salonissimo
For around 30 years, Salonissimo has stood for atmospheric concert experiences at the Nationaltheater. Wolfram Koloseus, Sorin Strimbeanu, Frank Ringleb, and Michael Steinmann draw on a versatile repertoire of entertainment music from bygone eras. Their arrangements combine chamber music precision with a warm, immediate stage performance.
A musical journey through time in the afternoon
A special live atmosphere is created in the OPAL foyer: melodies from the salon and coffee house culture meet fine orchestration, virtuosic interplay, and the characteristic sound of an ensemble that has accompanied its audience for many years. Between elegant themes, rhythmic lightness, and winking moments, a concert experience develops with a lot of charm.
Coffee, cake, and sound colors
The musical program includes coffee and cake. This way, the Café Concert connects concert attendance and sociable breaks in a special way. The audience atmosphere remains accessible and relaxed while Salonissimo leads through the afternoon with musical synchronization, stylistic sensitivity, and great joy in playing.
A fixed date in Mannheim's cultural calendar
The Café Concert has been a recurring feature of the Nationaltheater Mannheim for many years. The combination of historical entertainment music, salon ambiance, and culinary accompaniment makes the afternoon an ideal outing for music lovers, cultural enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to experience classical concert atmosphere in a relaxed form.
Conclusion
Salonissimo promises a stylish and lively concert experience with virtuosic salon music, coffee, and cake at OPAL. Anyone who wants to experience the magic of past coffee house culture live should save the date of November 7, 2026, and visit the Café Concert in Mannheim.
