Jazz Night with the Jonas Maurer Quintet at the Old Fire Station
On Monday, November 2, 2026, the café|bar of the Old Fire Station Mannheim will transform into an open resonance space for modern jazz. The IG Jazz invites you to a session with the Jonas Maurer Quintet. Admission is free, doors open at 8:00 PM, and the concert starts at 9:00 PM.
Five voices, one common sound
On stage, saxophone, piano, guitar, double bass, and drums come together. Helena Braun on saxophone, Martin Preiser on piano, Jonas Maurer on guitar, Mina Lichtenberg on double bass, and Jan Hauf on drums form a quintet that combines melodic lines, rhythmic impulses, and spontaneous improvisation.
Live jazz with an open ending
A jazz session thrives on the direct communication between musicians. Small rhythmic shifts, surprising turns, and precise reactions characterize the stage performance. The foundation is laid between double bass and drums, while piano, guitar, and saxophone illuminate the musical space with colors, dialogues, and free transitions.
The café|bar as an intimate concert backdrop
The event takes place in the café|bar of the Old Fire Station. The intimate atmosphere creates short distances between the stage and the audience, bringing the acoustic character of jazz into focus. The concert experience thrives on closeness, attentive listening, and the special tension of an evening whose musical development unfolds live.

This series provides space for changing line-ups, musical encounters, and lively improvisation in Mannheim. The Jonas Maurer Quintet opens this evening with a richly cast jazz setup and five individual sound personalities.
