Lilly Löffler Quintet brings free jazz energy to the Old Fire Station Mannheim

Jazz in free flow: The Lilly Löffler Quintet live at the Old Fire Station

On Monday, October 19, 2026, the café|bar of the Old Fire Station Mannheim transforms into an open sound space for improvised jazz. At the IG Jazz Session, the Lilly Löffler Quintet meets the immediate energy of a live session: Free admission, doors open at 8:00 PM, concert starts at 9:00 PM.

Five musicians, a lively dialogue

Lilly Löffler shapes the evening with her voice. Beside her are Riaz Khabirpour on guitar, Lukas DeRungs on piano, Jan Dittmann on bass, and Julius Steyer on drums. The ensemble combines voice, harmony, melody, and rhythm to create a sound that allows for musical communication and spontaneous turns.

When improvisation becomes a stage performance

A jazz session relies on synchronization, reaction, and the courage for the next note. Between vocal lines, guitar colors, and the piano foundation, a sound develops in the moment. Bass and drums give the music direction and pulse, while the orchestration of the quintet continuously opens new perspectives.

The café|bar as an intimate concert setting

In the café|bar of the Old Fire Station, the great distance between stage and audience is not the focus, but the closeness. The concentrated acoustics, direct interplay, and open atmosphere make the concert experience particularly immediate. Anyone who wants to not only hear jazz but experience its creation finds a fitting setting here.

Part of the regular IG Jazz Session

The IG Jazz regularly hosts sessions in the café|bar on the first and third Monday of the month. The concert of the Lilly Löffler Quintet continues this Mannheim jazz tradition with a young, flexibly staffed formation and invites attendees to delve into new sound ideas without an entry barrier.

Conclusion: Discover jazz before the moment passes

Audiences can expect a focused and at the same time open jazz concert with vocals, guitar, piano, bass, and drums. Those who want to experience the special live atmosphere of a session and follow musical development up close should not miss the evening at the Old Fire Station Mannheim.
