The Jam Monster invites you to a creative holiday afternoon
During the autumn holidays, the Mannheim City Library in Seckenheim transforms into a place for stories, pictures, and creative ideas. Children from 7 years old experience the picture book story The Jam Monster with Birgit Dreßler and immerse themselves in a child-friendly storytelling world during the picture book cinema.
Stories, Pictures, and Children's Laughter
When the images appear on the screen and the story is told vividly, a special family experience is created: children listen attentively, discover characters and situations, and develop their own ideas about the plot. The picture book cinema combines shared reading, visual impressions, and imaginative learning experience.
Creative Craft Fun after the Picture Book Cinema
After the story, children will craft something related to the Jam Monster. Here, they implement their impressions with their own ideas and materials. This strengthens fine motor skills, concentration, and creative thinking. At the same time, it creates shared time, where children can converse with one another and showcase their works.
Ages Appropriate and Family-Friendly
The event is aimed at children from 7 years old. The program combines literature education with practical design, providing an age-appropriate access to stories. Reading aloud, listening, and crafting promote joy in language, imagination, and self-confidence in a protected library environment.
A Free Holiday Offer in Seckenheim
Admission is free. Registration with the City Library Seckenheim is required for participation. Families can register by phone at 0621 293 6564 or by email at stadtbibliothek.seckenheim@mannheim.de.
What visitors can expect: an imaginative picture book story, shared wonder, creative craft fun, and a warm sense of community in the midst of the autumn holidays. Those who want to experience literature with all their senses will find a child-friendly family experience with learning fun and children's laughter at the Jam Monster.
