Frederick's Secret: A Warm Picture Book Cinema for Little Explorers
When the days get shorter, Frederick discovers that not only collected supplies help through the winter. In the child-friendly picture book cinema at the Mannheim City Library, children aged 3 to 5 experience a loving story about imagination, warmth, and the little treasures of life.
A Story to See, Hear, and Participate In
The mice gather supplies for the cold season. Frederick, on the other hand, collects something completely different: Together, the children follow his secret. The story comes alive through all the senses. The children help to gather, blow the autumn wind, and catch sunbeams.
Age-Appropriate Fun Learning with All Senses
The picture book cinema combines reading aloud, visual impressions, and playful activities. For preschool children, it creates an age-appropriate learning experience that supports language development, imagination, attention, and shared experiences. The imaginative actions invite children to express feelings, listen attentively, and contribute their own ideas.
A Shining Treasure to Take Home
At the end, each child creates their own glowing light. This small keepsake becomes a personal treasure for the cold season and makes the family experience particularly tangible. Children's laughter, wonder, and creative design unite to create a warm shared time.
Important Information for Families
The event is aimed at children aged 3 to 5 years and is limited to a maximum of 15 participants. Admission is free. The event is already fully booked.
Conclusion: Frederick's Secret offers young visitors a imaginative journey through a winter mouse story. The picture book cinema combines reading aloud, movement, creativity, and pedagogically valuable learning experiences in a protected library atmosphere.
