Up Close: Experience Studying at TH Mannheim Up Close

What does studying really feel like? During the Taster Study Up Close, the University of Applied Sciences Mannheim opens its doors to prospective students from October 12 to 14, 2026. On Tuesday, October 13, participants can expect an authentic discovery experience from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, featuring lectures, labs, campus tours, and personal exchanges.

Discover Personal Interests and Prepare for Study Choices

Up Close combines study orientation with immediate university experience. Participants can create their individual schedule from around 150 events in the fields of technology, computer science, business, design, and social sciences. This results in a personal city and campus tour through the academic world of TH Mannheim, tailored to their interests.

Experience Lectures, Labs, and Workshops Live

Instead of just getting a taste of university life at an information event, guests can attend regular lectures from the first and second semesters, visit labs and workshops, and take part in practical workshops. Scientific and technical phenomena become tangible, while insights into design, social sciences, and business provide additional perspectives on studying.

Campus Tour with Personal Exchange

A special aspect of the event is the direct conversation. Study Buddies and other students share their daily experiences, lead campus tours, and answer questions on equal terms. Additionally, counseling services provide guidance on degree programs, applications, admissions, study abroad semesters, and career prospects.

Community Café as a Meeting Point

The Community Café serves as the central hub throughout the day. Between program points, it invites participants to take a break, meet other taster students, and engage with the organizing team. Coffee, snacks, and drinks are provided for participants; questions about studying can find appropriate contacts here.
